ELOQUENT SOLIDARITY: Creative Expressions in Support of Palestine

The Palestinian people have endured the hardships of displacement, occupation, and genocide due to the actions of the Israeli government for more than 75 years. This event serves as a powerful bridge, transcending borders to provide a meaningful space where diverse voices converge in unwavering support of the Palestinian people. Through shared stories, music, and art, we aim to cultivate connections that extend beyond the scope of traditional fundraising efforts.

Performances include international poets, Amer Sarsour & Jonathan B. Tucker as well as local performers and food by Mama Sherri’s!

Join us in this collective endeavor to foster empathy and solidarity, contributing to a community that firmly believes in the transformative power of collective action. We welcome all people to join us, so feel free to bring a friend. This evening is an invitation to be part of a meaningful cause, standing united for justice and the overall well-being of Palestinians. Funds raised during the event will be directed towards supporting Justice for Palestine and Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).

Author Event: Jon Volkmer Brave in Season Reading

Based On True Events

In the 1950s, a group of black railroad workers are forced to work in the small town of Julian, Nebraska. One of them, 16-year-old Sam Washington, befriends 17-year-old Carlin Littman.

Decades later, Carlin’s younger brother, Timmy, returns to Julian to learn more about the conflict their relationship inspired—and tell a story everyone would rather forget.

“Brave in Season captures a historical moment that soon will lie beyond living memory, evoking a mythic small-town romance of baseball and then drawing from it a gripping parable of racial oppression.” -Rand Richards Cooper, author of The Last to Go
